What remains of Juan Sorga

Synopsis

After the death of my Spanish grandfather, I decide to investigate his mysterious origins. Yet I find nothing, as if he had no past at all. While I recount the steps of my search, my grandmother suddenly remembers that he once went by another name: “Sorga.” These five letters lead me toward another identity, that of Juan Sorga, a Spaniard who joined the resistance against Franco’s dictatorship before disappearing in 1950. With no word from him, Juan Sorga’s family is still searching for traces of his life. I set out to find him in Spain.
