Synopsis
In Hong Kong, Paul watches over a treasure of hundreds of thousands of vinyl records, gathered since his exile from Saigon fifty years ago. In his tiny, overstuffed shop, he generously shares his musical culture with all kinds of passersby. As he grows more exhausted, his clientele keeps increasing—as if, unable to change the future, Hongkongers were intent on keeping their vanished pop stars alive. Amid piles of record boxes, the sleepless old man tells me his story, his torments, and his dreams, in a noisy city now filled with silences, where love songs continue to be sung.
