A documentary by Ahmet Petek
Synopsis
Diyarbakir, in southeastern Turkey, is a major city for the Kurdish people. In 2019, the Turkish government arrested the elected Kurdish mayor and replaced him with a state-appointed administrator who began demolishing the Ben û Sen neighborhood where my family lives. I film to bear witness to the injustices experienced throughout the demolition process. Will the residents manage to form a new community, as close-knit as before, and will my parents adapt to this new life?
